A re-clad can give an existing home a fresh exterior while retaining the place and neighbourhood you know. Matt’s work includes re-cladding and new double glazing. Discuss the finish you want, the existing structure and how the exterior work connects with windows, doors and other parts of the house.

I’m Matt West, and I run Key 2 Construction. With more than 20 years on the tools, I’m a Registered Master Builder and Licensed Building Practitioner. I work all over Auckland, with a particular focus on East Auckland.

With a full contract build, I take care of the building work and organise the subcontractors, keeping the trades and timing coordinated. You deal directly with me, from our first conversation to the final handover.

With a full contract build, Matt organises the subcontractors and coordinates the work. You have one point of contact at every stage, from the first conversation to handover.

  1. Start with a conversation

    Tell Matt about your home and what you want to change.

    Your suburb, the type of work and a few photos are enough to start. Talk through your priorities, a budget range if you have one and when you would like the work to happen.

    Bring: your ideas, suburb and preferred timing.

  2. Look at the details

    Work through the house, the plans and the practicalities.

    Discuss the existing conditions, site access and the drawings available. Identify decisions still to be made, along with any design, approval or specialist input the project needs.

  3. Agree the scope & costs

    Get clear about the work before making a commitment.

    Work through what is included, what is excluded and which selections or allowances remain open. Discuss the proposed costs, timing and how any changes will be agreed.

    Put the practical arrangements in place.

    For a full contract build, Matt organises the subcontractors and coordinates materials, site access and the building work. Together, confirm the start arrangements, agreed scope and how the project will fit around your household.

    Stay clear on progress and decisions as the work takes shape.
